Iris Repair Simulation Course

Hands-on surgical simulation course focused on iris repair techniques and pupil reconstruction strategies.

Designed to support the development of surgical control in iris reconstruction procedures through a structured, stepwise simulation approach.

Activities are conducted in a controlled wet-lab environment with a strong focus on microsurgical suturing, tissue handling, and intraoperative precision.

Participants engage in key steps of iris repair and pupil reconstruction through repeated hands-on practice, developing control, coordination, and surgical confidence.

Course Aims

This course provides participants the opportunity to engage with iris repair and pupil reconstruction techniques in a controlled simulation setting. By the end of the course, participants will have:

  • Practiced microsurgical suturing techniques for iris repair in a controlled wet-lab setting.
  • Engaged with pupil reconstruction strategies on simulated material.
  • Worked through controlled tissue handling using microsurgical instruments in a simulated environment.
  • Examined the management of representative iris defects on an artificial eye model.
  • Explored a stepwise approach to iris reconstruction across simulated case scenarios.

What You Will Practice

  • Microsurgical suturing techniques for iris repair
